About me, as a coach

I am the founder of (and work at) Unravel – where we provide engineering leadership coaching for companies, teams and leaders. 1:1 coaching is an extension of that work, and it is something I love and enjoy!

What are the sessions like?

1:1 sessions do not have a fixed agenda or format – you can either send me your questions ahead of time or we'll spend the first 15 minutes of the session in discovery mode. Here are topics I feel best able to talk on:

• Engineering Leadership.
• Programming, especially backend web development.
• Mock Interview Practice, especially System Design interviews.
• Odds and ends of office life, especially Soft skills, Communication, Conflict Resolution.
• Productivity in Programming, especially Scripting, Editors, using the CLI, Debugging, Bench-marking.

Mentorship requires context and trust, both of which take time to build. This is a long journey and it enriches both our lives. To that end, I reduce the rates of repeat sessions over time as we build more and more context. Like many good things in life, mentoring has a compounding effect.

I prefer email over Whatsapp, text, or phone-calls because it lets us maintain long-form context over the weeks, months, and years that we will correspond with each other.
